The No. 1 walk for raising awareness and support for IDD nationwide, the Best Buddies Friendship Walk plays a critical role in ensuring the continued operation of Best Buddies programs. Participation is open to individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. They will engage in a variety of festivities and a walk event within Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Furthermore, participants who reach certain fundraising levels will receive an award, which they may redeem approximately four to five weeks after the walk.
BBFW proceeds enable Best Buddies International to provide job support and leadership development to those with IDD. The purpose of these programs is to increase the independence of such individuals and help them become valued members of society through employment and interpersonal skills.
The Best Buddies Friendship Walk will take place on October 1, 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee.
